TOP 5 USA Skiing Resorts

The wambrella team is an increasingly popular service whose goal is to provide adequate comfort level reports for resort owners, tourists and event organizers. Now the service has entered the USA territory and is gradually embracing the extensive US network of ski resorts and other tourist destinations.

Vail Ski Resort

Located in one of Colorado’s most picturesque terrains, a two-and-a-half-hour ride from Denver International Airport and about forty minutes from Eagle airport, Vail Ski Resort, with its famous seven back bowls, is an attraction for both novice and expert skiers/snowboarders.

Particularly this year, as long as we expect buddy El Niño to dump a load of snow onto it comparable to what it witnessed back in winter 1997-1998. Vail Ski Resort offers venues for skiers/snowboarders of all levels, since it is divided into three areas, and there are schools that offer decent training for the resort’s residents. El Niño is there to provide enough snow for that!

Telluride Ski Resort

This is an internationally recognized premier ski/snowboard resort with a terrific landscape and about 2,000 acres of ski/snowboard runs. It is equally attractive for beginner, intermediate and expert skiers/snowboarders, and it offers boundless opportunities for skill improvement regardless of your level.

According to our wambrella observations, residents enjoy 300 days of sunlight and about 300 inches of snow each year. Over the past years, Telluride Ski Resort has benefited from a couple of El Niño winters, which have obliterated southwest Colorado and endowed it with higher than average snow, much to the satisfaction of numerous skiers and snowboarders.

Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole is one of the Rockies’ most brilliant resort areas, which can well be termed a Mecca for free-riding snowboarders and skiers. Although it is notoriously attractive for expert riders, it has gained a bit of infrastructure for beginners as well.  About 50% of its terrain is graded as expert, 40% - intermediate, and 10% - beginner, and it is considered to be the most challenging one in North America.

Wambrella has included Jackson Hole in its weather comfort prediction program, so everyone who would like to test his/her strength on its steep and bumpy runs and take a breathtaking ride on the aerial tram can use the service and estimate comfort level. The resort include avalanche-prone zone, so it is absolutely imperative that you take snowfall warnings very seriously!

Alyeska Resort

Alyeska Resor is one of the many USA ski resorts that have fallen into wambrella’s orbit. Located in one of the most picturesque corners of Alaska, in a valley, it boasts a varied terrain, 37% of which is best suited for expert skiers/snowboarders, 52% - for intermediaries and 11% - for beginners. The town does not boast big infrastructure, and all you can find there are but a few restaurants. Accommodation is represented by the one and the only Hotel Alyeska.

The resort boasts the driest and most abundant snow I the country, as it gets 650 inches of snow at its most elevated point. Wambrella keeps track of snowfall warnings all the time, so it is advisable for potential visitors to refer to our comfort level reports before going there.

Mount Bohemia

Located in the northernmost part of the Keeweenaw Paeninsula, Michigan, Mount Bohemia resort is great for extreme skiing/snowboarding. Mount Bohemia offers one of the steepest and highest runs in the US, and it is overgrown with trees; 98% of the terrain is for experts, 2% - for intermediary, and there is no room for beginners at all.
The resort does not use any snow-generating equipment, as it gets an average of more than 270 inches of snow each year. The lake effect snow is never groomed, because there is no need to thanks to regular snowfalls. Since recently, wambrella collects weather data provided by meteorology services and, based on it, drafts weather comfort level accounts for skiers and snowboarders.

If you are about to visit one of the United States’ popular resorts and would like to know what to expect in terms of comfort level, you are welcome to refer to the information, which we provide non-stop. Our goal is to integrate into the ever-evolving world’s tourist industry and provide reliable service for people in the USA and elsewhere!
